Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Immersion & Teacher Training 2027/2028

We are delighted to be offering a Yoga Immersion & Teacher Training in 2027 and 2028. The training is led by a highly regarded Senior Teacher, Holly Mcfee, who is based here in Yorkshire. The training is accredited by Yoga Pros (formally Yoga Alliance Professionals), which has one of the most rigorous accreditation processes in the profession.

One of the things that makes this programme unique is that it is split into two stages. The first stage is a 70-hour Yoga Immersion, which is open to anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of yoga, develop their practice, and explore the wider teachings of yoga in a supportive learning environment.

Those who wish to take their journey further can then progress onto the 130-hour Yoga Teacher Training, which builds on the immersion and develops the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to teach yoga professionally.

Importantly, you don't need to be planning to teach yoga to benefit from this opportunity. The Yoga Immersion is a rich and rewarding experience in its own right.

Below is a little more information about the training.

Yoga Teacher Training (130 hours) - Autumn / Winter 2028

Building on the immersion, the Teacher Training focuses on developing the knowledge, confidence and practical teaching skills required to become a professional yoga teacher.

Practice teaching

There’s simply no substitute for teaching yoga. Trainees teach each other and trainers, getting regular feedback for improvement.

Anatomy

Underpinned by the principle of safety-first, trainees learn the physiology of the nervous system, respiratory system, about fascia, and musculoskeletal anatomy including bones, joints, and muscles and - importantly - why teachers need to understand the biomechanics of the human body.

Philosophy

Including the history of yoga, and studying the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita.

Asana and pranayama

Each day will include an asana clinic; taking a pose and breaking it right down. This is a wonderful opportunity to recap on relevant anatomy, to understand how to set a pose up, how to come out of it, what to ‘do’ whilst in the pose, what other poses are sensible for countering, and then, the trainees teach each other what they’ve learned; deepening both their knowledge but also their relationships with each other.

Teaching and sequencing methodology

Including how to remember your left and right, whether to use music, or Sanskrit. How to welcome beginners and experienced yogis into the same class. What to do if someone turns up to class who’s pregnant or has an injury. Timing a class to start and end on time, and so much more. This is where all the theory becomes applied practice, and the trainees evolve into yoga teachers.

The business of teaching yoga

A completely non-negotiable topic to cover. For those who want to go on to teach, we believe it’s fundamental that they understand that they are running a business. These lectures cover all the basics of starting and running a business, with tips and insights from Holly's over 14 years of teaching yoga, too.
